About this event

This two-part session will help you perfect your pitch. Starting with how to structure your pitch and make sure the content and language is engaging. Through to delivering your pitch in an impactful way to stand out from the crowd. ⭐

Anya Zhuravkina, founder of Winning Language, will get you thinking more about the language of your pitch (and your brand and business more broadly). How do you use language to:

  • Grab your audience’s attention
  • Engage customers and investors
  • Stand out from the competition.

As we enter the new year, there’s no better time than now to focus on this. And take some time to reflect on your current proposition and how to communicate it in a way that’s relevant and compelling.

However, what is content without impactful delivery? 🎤

Ginny Radmall, Director of The Ivy Way will take you through the art of performance in delivering your pitch to help you stand out from the crowd.

Pitching over a video call is tiring. Without the feedback loop that we are used to in face-to-face meetings, and the constant split attention of being on a screen, it is really hard to stay energised when you are presenting. But there are ways of standing out from the crowd, speaking with authority and engaging your audience in a memorable way.

This interactive session will cover:

  • How to use body language, tone of voice and pauses to deliver an effective pitch
  • Common mistakes people make when pitching virtually and how to overcome them
  • How to capture your audience's attention through storytelling
  • Best practice for technical setup.

NB! This session will be interactive, so please keep your camera turned on if you can. As the final touch to your pitch, you will want to make sure the deck is visually engaging. Join us on the 14th of January to learn more about the Power of Visual Design 👉 Register here.

Meet the Speakers 💬

🎙️ Anya Zhuravkina:

Anya is the Founder of Winning Language. Previously a Language Director at KPMG, Anya now helps a vast array or small and big business use language more effectively in pitching and sales.

Here’s what a Mayor's International Business Programme alumn said:

"Anya is an enigma. Her ability to coach people to a point where their written and spoken words are much more powerful and effective, is extraordinary. For example, Anya coached me through For Good Causes entry in KPMG’s Best British Tech Pioneer 2020 semi finals. Through her guidance and support, the pitch was transformed from a rushed , humourless piece into a high impact and highly effective delivery. Anya was fundamental to bringing the story to life.

If you want to hit harder and win more, I can’t recommend Anya highly enough!"

- Steve Wilks, Founding Director and COO, For Good Causes

🎙️ Ginny Radmall:

Ginny is the Director of The Ivy Way. She works with startups and corporates, equipping companies to communicate their message clearly. She also works with Google for Startups running pitch training across their global Demo Days as well as Techstars, Startupbootcamp and across multiple corporate innovation programmes.

Over the last few months Ginny has been training companies on how to pitch well in video calls, when it can often feel like you're speaking into a void.
